1954-Pavilion-new-front-b

Newly-completed front entranceway to the Sauble Beach Pavilion, 1954. Note the ‘seawall’ of rocks - one of an ever-evolving series of strategies that were employed over the years to keep Lake Huron at bay. Finally in the late ‘50s (I believe) wooden pilings were put in place, which successfully did the job for twenty years.
