1953-Pav-vista

The Sauble Beach Pavilion c. 1952-3. The main entrance has been moved to the right side (south face) of the building, away from the sand and occasional high water. Along the lake side a new row of very pretty shuttered windows have been added - which allowed fresh breezes inside on warm summer nights. Immediately to the Pavilion’s left is the cottage of Wally and Esther Scott, who of course co-owned and -operated the Pavilion with my parents, Jack and Marg Robertson. Our cottage is the first one to the Pavilion’s right, across the gravel parking lot. I hadn’t arrived yet at this time, but this is pretty much how things looked when my older sister Ann was born.
