The Sauble Beach Pavilion c. 1951. The front door opens onto the sand, and the low back wall encloses an outdoor dance floor. Within two years the entrance would be moved to the side, so customers wouldn’t get sand in their shoes. Or water - as on those windy nights when waves from Lake Huron came crashing right up to the steps!
